Draft for review. Details on this page may change.

Parsik hill

The hill is the first thing you notice from the train or the road. It shapes the whole town, with neighbourhoods spread along its foot.

Mumbra Devi temple

An old temple associated with the Koli and Agri communities, reached by climbing Parsik hill. Check the route and timings locally before you go.

The creek

The water on Mumbra’s edge is part of the wider creek system around Thane. It is the reason the area began as a fishing settlement.

The Parsik Tunnel

Opened in 1916 and about 1.3 km long, this railway tunnel runs through the hill between Kalwa and Mumbra. It is still in daily use on the Central line.
